Petty Family Reunion

While we were in Utah this summer we got to spend time with the Pettys celebrating Cory's grandpa's 80th birthday. There was a week-long reunion with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, nieces, nephews, lots of fun, and quite a few pictures. :)

Henry and Daddy on the swings (more at the bottom)

Family!

Henry! I love the way he folds his hands. That's what he does for prayers, too. :)

Henry, Daddy, and Grandpa Petty's (in)famous truck

Cory's mom and dad, happy grandparents with all their happy grandbabies (Maeve, Tripton, Henry, Rudy, and Bella)

Henry's face is cute. Daddy's face is priceless. :)

Henry, not too interested in sitting with his great-grandpa Petty

Henry? Where'd you go?

I love these ones of Henry and Daddy.

...and the horse. Henry LOVED the horses that belong to Grandma and Grandpa Petty's neighbors. (They also have a zebra. No kidding. And no explanation. Also, peacocks!)

Easter

Here are some pictures from Easter weekend. We had fun at a barbecue with friends on Saturday and Henry got to go on his first Easter egg hunt! He didn't really get it. If he'd understood candy--and if we'd given him any--he maybe would've been a little more interested. Maybe next year. :)

Family! Hehe.

This was at Target before the barbecue. We were desperately trying to find a non-girly Easter basket. Then Cory put this on him. (Oh the irony.)

Family again! This is Easter morning.

And this is after Church. His shirt and tie and coat were still dry! It was amazing. And yes, I tried getting pictures without his pacifier. But then he grabbed it and shoved it back in his mouth.

AHH! A talking muffin! (I'm teaching him that joke as soon as he can talk.)

Back to the barbecue! It was also Henry's first real (extended) experience with grass. He wasn't so sure about it.

Warmed up to it eventually, though. :)

Hey, look! I'm in a picture! With Henry! It's amazing. :)

Weekend in Utah

A couple of weeks ago my dear Grandma Johnson passed away. We flew out for the weekend to attend the funeral and be with family, which was as nice as such gatherings can be. Here are the pictures we came home with.

Waiting at the Oakland Airport for our delayed plane. Henry was a champ about it. He only got fussy toward the end (when we put him in his car seat) and then conked out as soon as the plane started moving. Beautiful.

Hanging out with Uncle Spencer. It was great having lots of family to play with.

Including Uncle Eric, who drove hours and hours and hours to see him! By which of course I mean he drove hours and hours and hours to go to a concert in Vegas with Cory, but we'll tell Henry it was for him. Kind of like Eric told him that cinnamon roll was for him. And then took it back. And ate it all himself. (Henry did get a taste of mine, though.)
Here he is trying to figure out his Grandma Johnson.

"Who IS this holding me? I mean, I'm fine with it, I just...need a minute to process."
Sitting with Dad and his snake at my aunt and uncle's house.

The view from my aunt and uncle's house. It's amazing. And that's the St. George temple, where we got married. (And where my aunt and uncle got married. And my parents. And my grandparents. And my sister. And my brother. ...you see the pattern.)
Being cute, like he does.
And here he is drinking a bottle on Dad's lap while we wait for a plane to leave Vegas. (It was on time, though. And again, he was great.)

Christmas!

I'm tired, and since the photos are why you're here anyway, I'll limit myself to captions. :)

I give you: Henry's first Christmas!

This is actually before Christmas...Henry admiring Grandma and Grandpa's Christmas tree

An awesome shot of Henry, Cory, the goatee he grew for his brother Eric, and said brother Eric, who is awesome and came down from Idaho just to spend Christmas with us. :)

Here's Henry on Christmas morning attempting to open his present from Uncle Eric.

*cries* "Daaaaaaaaaad, this wrapping paper is defeating meeeeee!"
Here he gets a little help from Dad, who can now see what it is :)

It's a Rubik's cube! Those are for eating, right?
Opening another present, which will turn out to be some adorable and much-needed (right size!) clothes from his Aunt Julianne and Uncle Ben. (Wrapping paper is for eating, right?)

The cold strikes again. Getting his nose blown while wearing his awesome new sunglasses from Uncle Spencer and Aunt Missy.
And here's how we all felt afterwards. :)

Sleeping again. I put this one in because it's of me, and there are so few of those...

The reason there aren't pictures of me and Cory opening presents (or anyone else...) is that the adults decided to do a quiet, child-free (except Henry) Christmas on Christmas Eve, which was very nice, and then we did stockings and tried to contain the havoc of eight children and their presents in the morning.
